God Has An Inheritance?

By Luke Yagelski

I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know...what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints...

Ephesians 1:16‭-‬18

I've been thinking about these verses lately. We talk alot about the inheritance of eternal life we have in Jesus Christ; but do you often think about the fact that Jesus has an inheritance too? And that inheritance is YOU and me - the church.

It's amazing to think about the people around you in the church and realize that these people are God's inheritance, and He's just excited about receiving His inheritance as we are of receiving ours. We will be fully, perfectly, united with Him.

Its interesting too that it says His inheritance is rich in glory. We don't often think of ourselves or the church at large as a rich and glorious thing. But Jesus sees us differently. That's because He sees how beautiful we already are now and how beautiful we will fully be at the culmination of all things. His Church is rich in glory.

When you think of your brothers and sisters in Christ, I encourage you to meditate on the fact that they are God's glorious inheritance. It's pretty amazing! 🙌
